Glenpark Move

The developers have had the sign off required to complete the building. We expect therefore for it to be handed over to us at the end of January.

Assuming everything goes according to plan, this will be the time table for the move.

Monday 4th February

Last day at the old Glenpark. We will be operating as normal on this day, though the focus will be on ensuring that any urgent work is cleared before the move.

Tuesday 5th February: moving day

Glenpark surgery will be closed. We will operate an emergency service out of the Health Centre. Use the normal telephone numbers as usual. All requests for appointments will go through the on call doctors.  Please be reassured that if you do need to be seen, we will ensure that you receive the care you require.

Wednesday 6th February: preparing the new building

Glenpark surgery will be closed. We will operate an emergency service out of the Health Centre. Use the normal telephone numbers as usual in the morning. All requests for appointments will go through the on call doctors.  Please be reassured that if you do need to be seen, we will ensure that you receive the care you require.

Around 2pm the Glenpark phone numbers will be switched off to allow the phone system to be transferred to the new building. We are unsure how long this will take. In the afternoon, if you have an urgent problem, phone Dunston Health Centre.

Thursday 7th February: New Building Opens

We anticipate that the new building will be fully functioning (at least for patients - sorting the administrative area may take a little longer!). The old building will be permanently closed and all appointments will be in the new building.

In the event that the phone system is not working, we ask patients firstly to phone Dunston Health Centre. If this is not possible we will run a walk-in service from the new Glenpark.

What can you do to help us move?

We ask that patients only contact us in the week of the move for problems that cannot wait.

For advice about minor illnesses, including mild flu-like illnesses, coughs and colds, sore throats, diarrhoea and vomiting, and queries about your medication, consider speaking to your pharmacist, or consider phoning 111.

Please ensure that you have ordered medication in good time. For the 2 days of the move, we will have limited access to our computer systems which may result in a delay to processing prescription requests.

Open Days

We recognise that patients will want to have a look around the new building, both to celebrate the new building and to familiarise themselves with the layout.

We will be opening the building for patients to view on:

  • Wednesday 6th February : 4pm - 7pm
  • Saturday 9th February : 10am - midday

We will have a formal opening once we are fully moved over - watch this space for more details

Dunston Health Centre

The last day that we will have a surgery at Dunston Health Centre will be Friday 1st March

From Monday 4th March, all surgeries will transfer to the new Glenpark building, including the baby clinic.
