Chaperone Policy
- This policy gives guidance on the use of chaperones for intimate examinations. A chaperone will be a trained clinician such as a nurse, auxiliary nurse or doctor.
- A patient may request a chaperone for any consultation, examination or procedure, if they feel one is required.
- A doctor or nurse who feels that a chaperone should be present has the right not to examine the patient without one.
